Starting as a political news and celebrity portrait photographer in DC, Sam was instantly drawn to wedding photography as a space to promote more inventive ideas. Sam’s focus is on photographic techniques that are deceptively simple but have the potential to transform difficult or uninspiring shooting environments into one-of-a-kind opportunities for every photo made.
Danielle and Jordan and I spent the evening just walking around the Tidal Basin, which honestly might be my favorite way to do an engagement session… no rigid plan or rushing from spot to spot. Just two people who are clearly in love, the water reflecting whatever the sky decided to do that night, and me trailing along trying to keep up with how easy they made it look.
There’s something about this stretch of DC that never gets old to me. The monuments, the open water, the way the light bounces around at the end of the day. Danielle and Jordan brought all the warmth and I just got to point my camera at it.
